Deadbeat Taxpayers

Dead­beat tax­pay­ers owe the state more than 232 mil­lion dol­lars. The Fran­chise Tax Board released their list of the top 500 delin­quent tax­pay­ers in hopes the pub­lic humil­i­a­tion will get them to pay up. A new law allows the tax board to include the names and titles of cor­po­rate offi­cers, and gives the state the abil­ity to revoke licenses and col­lect from those who’ve moved out of state. The co-founders of CNET top the list owing nearly ten-and-a-half mil­lion dol­lars in back taxes and actress Pamela Ander­son of Bay­watch comes in at num­ber 139, owing more than 500-thousand dollars.
