Lemoore standoff ends peacefully

A six hour swat standoff in Lemoore ended peacefully after negotiators convinced a man living inside the Kings Mobile Home Estates to surrender.

Local residents came to the police department to report that a man was armed, and threatening to harm himself and others.

Officers repeatedly tried to contact the man. When that didn’t work, they sent the swat team. Negotiators spent about 6 hours talking to the man via loudspeaker and through a ground phone. The man surrendered to police and is still being questioned.

The situation is extremely demanding on police and swat teams.

Dozens of residents who live near the mobile home in question– were evacuated for their own safety.
