Tulare’s recreational programs going online

Tulare’s parks, library and recreation department wants to update its program registration methods through new software. This installment allows people to register for programs over the Internet.

The only exception will be booking reservations for use of city facilities, like the community center auditorium at 830 S. Blackstone St., park picnic gazebos, and tennis courts.

But people will be able to learn more online about those facilities, including floor plans and photographs; but actually booking a site will still require a trip to their offices.

The city’s Senior Center, which is part of the parks department, is also switching to the new registration system, but they are going straight “from pen and paper to this, which should be a big change,” Melendez said.
