The Tulare County Board of Supervisors could cancel on Tuesday plans to close two rural, waste-transfer stations and approve contracts valued at more than $9 million to design and oversee construction of a new south county jail.
Most of the planned 514-bed jail will be paid for with a $60 million state grant. That money is part of $1.2 billion from California’s Jail Construction Financing Program to build new jails and expand existing ones in the state.
