Spraying For Citrus Pest In Tulare County

Agri­cul­tural offi­cials say they may begin their attack against a dan­ger­ous cit­rus pest as early as tomor­row. The Asian cit­rus psyl­lid has been dis­cov­ered in three loca­tions in Tulare County. The pest car­ries a dis­ease called “cit­rus green­ing” that kills trees and has no cure. Offi­cials have quar­an­tined 163-square miles in the county and may begin spray­ing cit­rus groves on Thursday.
