People living in the city of Orange Cove no longer have to worry if their drinking water is safe. Officials say tests results have come back negative for nitrates that were discovered in the water supply last week. Residents were forced to line up to get bottle water to drink, cook and brush their teeth with. The city’s water usually comes from the Friant-Kern Canal, but the canal was closed for maintenance and the water was instead pumped from nitrate-contaminated irrigation wells near the city.
