School Shooting

A teacher and a campus supervisor are receiving credit for keeping a high school shooting situation from getting worse. A student armed with a shotgun at Taft Union High School outside of Bakersfield shot one student who is currently listed in critical but stable condition. The teacher, along with a campus supervisor, were able to talk the gunman into surrendering his weapon. Officials say two students were targeted by the shooter and it wasn’t a random act.
