Governor Calls Health Care Special Session
Governor Jerry Brown says one of the state’s challenges this year will be implementing the federal Affordable Care Act, which he’s called a special session to address. Anthony Wright with Health Access says California needs to move quickly on health reform implementation and Medicaid expansion. He says the state needs to change the eligibility rules and expand Medi-Cal, and change the rules in the insurance market so people are no longer denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions.
