Bill Would Expand Medi-Cal

Law­mak­ers are con­sid­er­ing a bill that would expand Medi-Cal to more than one-million low-income Cal­i­for­ni­ans. Assem­bly Speaker John Perez says his bill would pro­vide cov­er­age to adults mak­ing less than 15-thousand 400-dollars a year. If the bill is signed into law, the fed­eral gov­ern­ment would pay for California’s expan­sion of Medi-Cal for three years. Law­mak­ers will con­sider the bill in a spe­cial leg­isla­tive ses­sion ordered by Gov­er­nor Brown dur­ing his State of the State.
