Flu Death in Kern

Kern County health offi­cials say a 9-year-old girl has died from the flu. The child was a fourth grader in the Fruit­vale School Dis­trict. The Kern County Health Depart­ment says the girl was healthy before­hand. “There’s no evi­dence of this child hav­ing even being ill on the last day she was at school,” said Dr. Clau­dia Johah with the Kern County Health Department.
