Three Central Valley hospitals are in trouble with the state. The California Department of Public Health has fined the hospitals after investigators found their actions were likely to cause serious injury or death. Adventist Medical Center in Hanford was fined for unsafe administration of medicine, Fresno Surgical Hospital was fined for not following surgical policies, and Memorial Medical Center in Modesto was fined for the same reason. Statewide, seven hospitals were fined.
