Central Valley Hospitals Fined

Three Cen­tral Val­ley hos­pi­tals are in trou­ble with the state. The Cal­i­for­nia Depart­ment of Pub­lic Health has fined the hos­pi­tals after inves­ti­ga­tors found their actions were likely to cause seri­ous injury or death. Adven­tist Med­ical Cen­ter in Han­ford was fined for unsafe admin­is­tra­tion of med­i­cine, Fresno Sur­gi­cal Hos­pi­tal was fined for not fol­low­ing sur­gi­cal poli­cies, and Memo­r­ial Med­ical Cen­ter in Modesto was fined for the same rea­son. Statewide, seven hos­pi­tals were fined.
