Two Kings County schools were put on lock-down Tuesday morning after a man was stabbed in the face by members of a rival gang. Authorities say the fight broke out in a park off Mariposa and Fifth Streets in Avenal just before 9am and involved at least 6 people, all rival gang members. After he was stabbed, police say the victim ran to nearby Avenal High School, asking for help and for school staff to call the cops. Officers arrived moments later and shut down both Avenal High and the Sunrise Continuation School on the opposite side of the park. Three juveniles, thought to be connected to the stabbing, were then arrested as they were checking in for class at Sunrise.
