After months of lobbying to change California’s milk-pricing system, James Netto seemed to sum up the feelings of many of the more than 250 dairy operators who gathered for a meeting during last week’s 2013 World Ag Expo sayig “We’re no better off. We’re probably worse than we were eight months ago. Most states follow what’s called the federal market order, but California is one of the few that doesn’t. Instead, the prices here are set every month by the head of the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
