Water officials are calling on the Legislature to do something about nitrate contamination in the drinking water in some parts of Tulare County. The California State Water Board has made 15 recommendations. Some of the recommendations include a point-of-sale fee on agricultural commodities, nitrogen fertilizers or a water use fee.
