49ers quarterback Alex Smith is apparently on the move. Multiple reports say the Niners will trade Smith to the Chiefs. The 49ers will reportedly get the Chiefs’ second-round pick this year and a conditional pick next year in return. No trade can be finalized until the start of the new league year on March 12th. Smith became expendable with the emergence of QB Colin Kaepernick [[ CAP-er-nick ]], who led the 49ers to the Super Bowl.
